

After a few platforms, another lift that Mario must ride on is found. A Boo and a group of three Peepas holding lifts are found with a Red Ring. A lift that is carried by a Peepa when Mario touches it is found, below a ? Block with a Hidden Block containing a 1-Up Mushroom found above it. The Checkpoint Flag is then found, with two ? Blocks nearby. A Crowber, two Boos, and more Peepas are then found. A Peepa carrying a lift vertically is then found, followed by a Peepa moving diagonally and a Peepa below a ? Block. Mario begins the level near two ? Blocks, one of which contains a power-up. This level focuses on Peepas, which move platforms by shaking them. It is similar to World 8-1 from the original New Super Mario Bros. It is one of the only levels in the game taking place in a haunted forest, without being a Ghost House, the other level being World Star - 3. 2 World 6-4 is the fourth regular level in World 6 in New Super Mario Bros. * Appears only in Super Mario Bros.New Super Mario Bros. Next are two lifts moving in opposite vertical directions with Fire-Bars on both sides, followed by some gaps and Podoboos before coming to the fake Bowser, which breathes fire as the player is jumping across the gaps. After the lava are two paths lined with Fire-Bars, with the bottom path having more than the top path. Above the center platform is the only ? Block in the level, containing a power-up, and the platform also has a long Fire-Bar that can reach the other surrounding platforms. The player starts at the top of some stairs that lead to a pit of lava with Podoboos jumping out and platforms placed above it. World 5-4 is similar in layout to World 2-4, but with additional Fire-Bars and Podoboos.
