99% of new players will suffer until they learn how to prevent said suffering. Rest assured - it's all in the knowledge curve. You are warned of this before starting a new game and will find no shortage of reviews/comments about the difficulty. While it's not nearly as difficult as you may be led to believe, it is at least pretending to be an unforgiving and punishing experience. Like, is this how this game is supposed to work? However even without DLC enabled, the early-game is arguably the most difficult part of the entire game (hence unlocking DLC on top of that can really throw new players for a loop). If this is your first playthrough then I'd recommend disabling all DLC and adapting to the vanilla experience, then do another fresh playthrough afterwards with all the DLC for added challenge/longevity. The apprentice DLC missions can be considered a tutorial of sorts, but really, they just unlock their respective content.
The only true "tutorial" dungeons are the Old Road opening and the very first Ruins dungeon with your first four heroes.Įverything after that is fair game.
TTFTS can't spawn unless you've partaken in CoM missions, just like you are mostly safe from CCourt mechanics until you do the first court mission.
